Vintage Craft Fair

We arrived at the Market Hall just after 8am feeling excited but apprehensive. We met Alan straight away who helped us find our pitch. It was a cold morning and we were both well wrapped up but we found to our peril that we were not wrapped up well enough  - so need to think about thermals for the fair in December!

It took us a couple of hours to set up but we were really pleased with how the stall looked - we think it looked the best yet.

We used our sweetpea banner for the first time - a bit crumpled but looked quite good.

The Christmas gift tags were quite popular and a few people asked if we were exhibiting in December so hopefully we will get some return customers.

We grouped some of our smaller items together for stocking filler ideas - for next time we are going to include a few glitzy corsages.

We met lots of lovely people, it was so nice to be with people who shared our passion about crafting and creating beautiful things.

I loved Vintage Twees stall - everything was just so beautiful.
I have included the link for Vintage Twees blog its fab http://vintagetwee.blogspot.com

We are busy knitting more children's hats and berets as they were popular - and we never seemed to have the right size!
We have got a couple of other events before the next Vintage Craft Fair, one is at Broadstone Mill on the 28th November, the mill houses a mini craft community with studios to rent and organises a monthly event where crafters and artists can exhibit and sell products to the public.

The next event on the 9th December is smaller, we have been invited to set up a stall at a local school - hopefully lots of children will need our lovely snuggley hats and neck warmers.

Bye for now I have lots to do and if I get all of my chores finished I am going to sew some trees!

sweetpea launch party

The launch party went very well - so a very big thank you to family and friends who supported the event.

We both underestimated just how much work it would involve but we were very pleased with the outcome. it took most of the day to get the party set up as we wanted to display our products through out the house.

We displayed collections of Christmas gift tags, knitted Christmas trees embellished with beads and Christmas bunting.

We decorated the fire place with some of the Christmas bunting.

I have added a few photos of the lovely supper we made for everyone - it seemed to go down well.

Pam and I have been knitting like mad and had lots of lovely adult scarfs, neck warmers and scarfletts to display - people were buying them as Christmas gifts.

We also displayed some little toys and novelties - little monsters, egg people and baby rattles which we thought would be good for stocking fillers

I seem to be having terrible trouble lining up my blog today - so I'm sorry about all the gaps and disjointed text.

We had a stall at a local play group on Friday which was good practice for us and we got lots of lovely comments but unfortunately it wasn't a very successful morning if we measure it on sales.

Tomorrow Pam and I have got our first Vintage and Craft Fair, my hall is packed with all of our stuff which is ready to be packed into the car - keep your fingers crossed that we do well.

We have had almost a 200 hits on our blog which is fantastic - but no comments yet!! I would love some feed back it would be so nice to hear what you think - fingers crossed for some comments and I will offer a "sweetrpea goodie bag" to the first 3 people to add a comment.

I will post some photos of the Vintage Fair on Monday - bye for now Sue x

London Visit

I have been neglecting my blog but hopefully have an excuse as I have been visiting my daughter in London, taking my grandchildren to a Halloween Party and now I'm frantically getting ready for our "sweetpea" launch party on Wednesday.

When I was in London I had great fun with my daughter, Kate is a very talented designer and has just designed a range of indoor tree hangings, cushions and tea towels - they are all amazing. During my stay the fabric for the trees had just been printed with the new designs and we made up some of the trees. Each tree has its own story and is embellished with a hand made badge which depicts one of the story characters - they are just perfect.

Kate has a website with all of her lovely designs on - the trees will be on soon!

Kate also has a shop front on Notonthehighstreet

Its well worth having a look for lovely original Christmas gift ideas - although of course I am bias but her products are beautiful!

This is Rosy Posy tree and it has a little tree house on its branches - it hasn't got the lovely story gift tag with it yet as that's still being printed.
My camera doesn't do it justice.

I have put the Miss Peabody tree next to the Rosy Posy tree , Miss Peabody has got a little baby bird in her branches.

I have just hung the two little trees in my window they look lovely -just wish my
photo was better.

Kate has designed some exquisite badges for our launch party

I think the badges look really cute. Pam and I are putting some goodie bags together to give to customers - they will contain some of our smaller knitted products, corsages, hair bows, hair bobbles etc
We are also going to add one of our hand painted gift tags and of course one of Kate's badges.

When we have assembled the goodie bags I will put a photo on the blog and also some shots of the party - I hope lots of people pop in throughout the day.

Bye for now Sue x
