Busy day

I have had a lovely day its been very busy but rewarding - I was going to title my post "networking day" but that sounded a bit cool for me!

I started the day at my grandsons playgroup which was lots of fun and was where I met two children's dress and accessories designers who were showcasing little girls dresses with matching bags and rag dolls, the products were exquisite. I have included a link to the website below:-

I asked the playgroup leader if I could bring some of our Sweetpeafamily range of knitted baby wear and accessories and she agreed to let me have a table on the 12th November. I am really looking forward to it and its just before the Vintage Craft Fair so it will be an opportunity to work on product displays.

I also mentioned that I sold cards and the playgroup have agreed to me displaying my Phoenix cards as well - which is great.

During the afternoon I went to my gym to discuss taking my cards in to sell and they have given me two slots one in November and one in December, if they are successful they have agreed to me having a monthly slot in 2011 - I am beginning to feel like an entrepreneur.

I have another busy day tomorrow I am going to my first ever Wedding Show at GMEX in Manchester.
I have two daughters both planning weddings - its so exciting!  I am hoping to get some inspiration and ideas for wedding favours and invitations.

Getting things ready

I had a very successful Wednesday with Pam getting things ready for the vintage craft fair. We started to pull our action plan together (made a list!)

We made some lovely Christmas bunting which we now have to design packaging for, we hope it will be popular and it certainly looked lovely on my chimney breast, so if all else fails we will both have very festive homes this Christmas.

We made the bunting in several different colour ways, some red and green with red tape, some with green tape and some just in red and white which looked lovely.

We also created quite mess!

Pam has designed and painted some exquisite Christmas tree gift tags which we are going to sell at the craft fair - I think they are delightful

I remembered to take a photo of some other bunting I have made which is in pastel colours and is great for garden and birthday parties as the fabric is plastic coated - I think it has a soft vintage look.

Back to Christmas, we have both knitted some lovely little Christmas Tress hangings which are embellished with buttons and beads - I have photographed a few that Pam has knitted - they are very sweet and we hope they will make lovely gifts and keepsakes.

Nice and tidy and ready to make the dinner, but my head is still full of lots of new ideas.

Pam has just emailed me about a new wool shop in Manchester that sounds interesting its called Purl City Yarns and has its own website and blog, I can't wait to visit the shop have a look at the blog it looks great.. http://www.purlcityyarns.blogspot.com/

"need to write a list"

Its Saturday morning and so far its quite bright so should be a nice day.

I got back from holiday on Monday didn't do as much knitting as I planned - it did feel a bit weird!

I am beginning to panic as Pam and I have booked a stall at Stockports Vintage Craft Fair in November and December. I am really excited and it will be a great opportunity for us to showcase our stuff  - but all the usual anxieties are creeping in, will we have enough products, will people like them, have we got enough time to finish everything, are we rubbish, the list in my head goes on!

I have decided to declutter my head and write a list of everything we need to do before the first vintage fair, I am also going to do myself a time line (this sounds quite intelligent and organised)

Pam is coming over for the day on Wednesday and we are going to sort out all of the things we have made so far, which will give us a good idea of what we have, what we need to make etc (can't wait to do the time line as I can add Wednesday as an action point!) If we have time we are going to make Christmas bunting to add to our bunting collection. Pam has decorated some beautiful wooden Christmas trees which will make fab gift tags - I am beginning to feel much more optimistic - I didn't realise a blog could be so cathartic.

Its also my sisters birthday today and I have invited her round for afternoon tea, so I now need to become a domestic goddess and make lots of beautiful cakes.

Not sure what to bake yet but think cupcakes will be the quickest and they always look lovely.  I baked the ones in the photo for my daughters birthday.

I love baking but not sure it fits well today as I am itching to start my lists.

I had better get started on my baking and list writing, I will take some photos on Wednesday
Bye for now Sue x
